SAISIP offers recent graduates from U.S. and
Canadian college and universities the opportunity to serve as teaching interns in overseas international
schools.
As a SAISIP intern you will:
Gain valuable teaching experience and training by working closely with experienced international
educators.
Work directly with students in teaching, coaching, tutoring and supervising extracurricular
activities.
Live in a foreign country and be part of an international school staff serving children of many nations.
Receive round-trip transportation, health insurance and a monthly stipend which should support an
acceptable standard of living and some travel.
Most of the overseas schools where interns are placed are private American and international schools
with a curriculum similar to U.S. schools. For example, the school year is usually the same as in North
American beginning in August or September and ending in June. English is the language of
instruction.
Knowledge of the host country's language is not necessary, however, interns are encouraged to immerse
themselves in the local culture and language.
