The Board of Directors of the International School of the Port of Spain has just announced the appointment of Ms. Annabel (Abby) Majende to the position of ISPS Director for a period of three years commencing August 24, 2015. 

Ms. Majende holds a Masters degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of British Columbia Canada. A Canadian educational leader with over twenty years’ experience in International Schools, Abby has held a variety of leadership positions including International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Coordinator, High School Principal, Head of School, Director and Provisional Superintendent. Her areas of expertise include the promotion of 21st Century Learning skills, Accreditation, Standards and Protocols, International Curricula, School improvement, Staff Development, and Assessing Student Achievement. 

Abby has been described as energetic, enthusiastic, achievement oriented and highly adaptive.  Her Jamaican heritage has afforded her the opportunity to live, work and understand the customs and culture of Caribbean people. Abby’s eleven year old son will be joining the student population.
