George spent his early career working as an educator and Psychologist with children and adults presenting with significant cognitive, behavioral, mental health, and/or educational challenges. He identifies this early career engagement as building the foundation for the level of importance he continues to place on inclusion and the commitment he has to school improvement that targets improved outcomes for every student. It was also during this time that he became more intrigued and engaged with the work of changing and reshaping organizations.
Entering the private sector, where he spent 16 years, George functioned in the broad area of Organizational Development and Leadership with specific responsibilities in HR, organizational design (OD) and internal organization consulting. It was here, in businesses ranging in size from start-up (Hunter Panels, Maine) to Fortune 500 companies (Weyerhaeuser Company, WA), he honed his skills at developing systems and structures which could produce the most favorable individual and team performance outcomes. George continues to be certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources by the Human Resources Certification Institute.
George then reentered the world of education serving as Superintendent of public school districts in Maine and Massachusetts for a period of 15 years before, most recently, serving as Deputy Head and Head of Puxi Campus at Shanghai American School.
We are excited to welcome George to our team. With his background in business and education, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in a broad range of organizational and consulting services that are critically important to so many of our partners.
