The British International School, Budapest seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Head of Secondary to take responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the secondary school from August 2015. With proven leadership and people management skills along with a leadership background in education you will be passionate about delivering high quality education. You will be an excellent communicator who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change within an international and multi-cultural setting. Amongst other things, you will be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will be driven by your determination to improve quality and develop the school in line with our strategic plan. As a passionate leader, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to a modern, constructivist, inquiry-based, approach to education that inspires and engages students. You will have experience of how technology can be used to enhance, transform and personalise learning. You will be experienced in the latest assessment methods and have experience of both the UK and IB curricula. In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics, and in particular will:

- Build a positive school culture conducive to high levels of teacher and student performance;
- Engage and motivate students;
- Demonstrate strong analytical thinking skills;
- Be committed to the continual improvement of learning outcomes;
- Contribute to continual school improvement;
- Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and proven ability as a professional coach and mentor;
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school in line with the Strategic Plan;
- Understand different leadership styles and be able to apply them effectively to different situations;
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Work with the Director of Admission to continue to grow student enrollment.
