High School Principal


KOREA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, JEJU CAMPUS seeks a student-centered and learning focused high school principal to lead our experienced and highly professional faculty in the provision of an outstanding educational program and student learning experiences. 


The Korea International School, Jeju Campus mission is to provide a challenging American curriculum, promote responsibility to our community and prepare students for learning in university and life. The high school combines a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with an emphasis on personal growth, individual enrichment, and community engagement. KISJ is accredited through the Western Association of Secondary Colleges (WASC) and offers twenty-three Advanced Placement courses. 


Reporting to the Head of School, the High School Principal provides leadership for all educational and community matters within the high school. 


Roles and responsibilities:


  • Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team

  • Oversee the daily operations of the high school

  • Develop and implement divisional goals, programs, policies and practices in alignment with the school’s mission, vision, learner outcomes, and strategic plan

  • In collaboration with the Director of Teaching and Learning, lead and oversee the development, documentation, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum

  • Ensure the collection and use of data to monitor the success of academic programs in the high school 

  • Supervise and evaluate the associate principal and divisional faculty/staff with a focus on accountability towards KISJ professional expectations and pedagogy

  • Ensure student SEL needs are met through close collaboration with counselors and oversight of the advisory program

  • In collaboration with the College Counselors, lead and oversee the development, documentation, implementation and evaluation of the college application processes

  • Communicate and collaborate in a culturally appropriate manner with with local office and business staff 

  • Build community and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders

  • Facilitate quarterly meetings with the Parent Advisory Board (PAB)

  • Actively participate in school and community events

  • With the Head of School and the Director of Human Resources, lead the recruitment, selection and orientation of new faculty 

  • In collaboration with the Head of School, manage and monitor the high school annual budget


Academic and professional qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, or other relevant field  

  • Principal’s certification

  • Experience in a similar position in a school of similar size and complexity

  • Experience with AP programs and Common Core (Aero) curriculum

  • Experience working in a school culture that supports English Language Learners

  • Demonstrated capability with learning and data platforms (ATLAS, MAP, PowerSchool), Google Classroom and instructional design (UbD)

KISJ High School Profile

 

Reporting Date:


With a contract of up to 205 working days, the High School Principal will report before the beginning of new teacher orientation and will participate in end of year leadership planning days after the departure of teaching faculty.
