INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF MYANMAR SEEKS NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
International School of Myanmar is a preK-12 college preparatory program accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Our mission is to help students acquire the attitudes and skills necessary for them to succeed in English speaking universities and to be compassionate, reflective, and responsible citizens ready to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
The International School of Myanmar was founded in 1998 by a group of concerned educators and business leaders who felt there was a need for an affordable, high-quality international education option for Myanmar and expatriate students living in Yangon. From its humble beginnings as an "International Child Zone" with 48 students, the school has grown rapidly to over 1200 students and three campuses of purpose-built classroom building in a residential neighborhood in northwest Yangon.
The school is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS).
The International School of Myanmar's Middle School includes grades 6 through 8. Our enrollment consists of 271 students who represent a number of nationalities. Our talented and qualified teachers hail from around the world, and are supported by teaching assistants from Myanmar who all hold advanced certifications or degrees in education.
We are committed to the task of preparing all students for success in English speaking universities in the future. We are also committed to promote good citizenship, by offering our students many opportunities to develop leadership skills, work collaboratively, and participate in community service.
Our sports program challenges students to improve team building skills, personal fitness, and good sportsmanship. ISM is recognized within the Yangon community as a leader in all aspects of education.
And last, but not least, our greatest resource in the Middle School is the students and their families. ISM students are eager to learn and always ready to help one another to succeed whether it is in the classroom, on the basketball court, or in the community. And their families are a vital part of our mission, always ready to join in and make every effort a positive and successful one.
