POSITION: SECONDARY PRINCIPAL OF FAIRGREEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL,
THE SUSTAINABLE CITY, DUBAI, UAE
FOR AUGUST 2019
We are seeking to recruit a Secondary Principal for this International Baccalaureate curriculum school, recently opened in September 2018 in Dubai’s The Sustainable City (TSC) development. TSC is a new residential community in Dubai, UAE that meets the highest standards of sustainability and seeks to become a regional leader in environmental protection. The school campus features a unique design that that promotes sustainability, reflecting the complimentary aspects of the design and construction of the broader TSC development.
The school currently has 200 students from grades PreK-8 and currently follows the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), and Middle Years Programme (MYP), and will offer the Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-Related Programme (CP) in the coming years. Numbers are expected to grow to around 450-500 next year and ultimately, capacity will be 1,150 students from PreK-Grade 12.
The Secondary Principal must be a strong educational leader, experienced in MYP and IBDP programmes, and excited by and committed to the ongoing development of Fairgreen International School principles and mission statements.
Fairgreen takes a research-supported approach to the education of its students. The elements of an IB education, such as the development of the academic, social and emotional aspects of a child, inquiry-based learning, and the promotion of independent learning and personal responsibility, are complimented by a holistic approach that gives the students an interdisciplinary experience. The curriculum includes a major focus on the three elements of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

The Fairgreen International School Secondary Principal position entails a competitive salary and benefits package, including housing, flights, health insurance and other benefits. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree plus an additional qualification or certification in Educational Leadership;
- A proven track record in educational leadership, including at least three years of experience as a school leader/administrator at a high-quality international school;
- The ability to lead and work collaboratively with a large and talented team of teachers, administrators and other school personnel;
- Experience of leading either the MYP or IBDP, preferably both
- Proven commitment to a well-balanced program that focuses on the social and emotional wellbeing of all students;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to reach out to many constituencies;
- The ability to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers; and
- The flexibility to learn and adapt to new cultures and situations.
Working with all stakeholders, the Secondary Principal will support the Director in actioning the vision, leadership and direction of the school and will ensure that it is well-managed and organized in the Secondary School, to meet the school’s aims and targets. He/she will ensure an excellent, broad-based, relevant and international education in line with the school’s aims and objectives of sustainability, care for all and academic success.
The Secondary Principal has overall responsibility for the organizational, operational and academic functions of the secondary school, including working with the Director and other Fairgreen leaders to recruit, develop and retain outstanding faculty and staff. The Principal will work with the Director and fellow school leaders to formulate the school’s strategic plans and programs and will direct the day-to-day operation of its secondary programs.
