Dear Search Colleagues,

On behalf of Cognita Asia Holdings and the Search Committee of Stamford American International School in Singapore, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Matt Mills has been appointed Superintendent beginning in August 2024.

In making the announcement to the school community, Sameer Aggarwal, CEO of Cognita Asia Holdings, shared the following. 

"Given the importance of the role, we conducted a global search to find the right leader for this prestigious institution in Singapore.  The search process included meetings of shortlisted candidates with current SAIS students, staff and parents.  Throughout the interview process, Mr. Mills impressed the search committee with his focus on academic excellence and the holistic development of children.  Mr. Mills has more than 25 years of headship and senior-level leadership within top international schools in New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, German and Thailand.  Mr. Mills most recent role was the Head of School of Bangkok Patana School (Thailand) for a record 15-year tenure. 

Mr. Mills has a Bachelor of Education from Massey University (New Zealand) and a Master of Education from Walden University (USA).  

Mr. Mills and his wife, Rachel, are looking forward to joining the vibrant community in Singapore and we are excited to welcome them here.  We look forward to continuing the growth of SAIS under his leadership."
