International “School of Life” in the Heart of Bangladesh!

The path to an extraordinary education begins the moment one steps into Glenrich International School (GIS). Known as the “School of Life,” GIS is committed to offering a 21st Century Education in a caring and nurturing environment since its opening in April 2023. It is committed to fulfilling its objective of helping every student realize their potential by creating an environment that nurtures the pursuit of excellence.

GIS is a division of one of the most respected corporate groups of Bangladesh, STS Group, committed to building world-class institutions in Education and Healthcare in Bangladesh. Located in Sunvalley, close to Bashundhara Residential Area, Dhaka, the school ensures a global standard of education by delivering the Cambridge International Curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12.

The campus includes well-lit, air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi enabled classrooms designed for opportunities to work collaboratively within and between classrooms. Meeting rooms for teachers and parents are also located between classrooms. In addition to a huge library that can seat 90 students at any given time, the school boasts labs for computers, math, science, and Montessori exploration. GIS also features inside a Parents Lounge and Soft Play Area. The auditorium has been designed with state-of-the-art sound and light designs for professional-level events. The auditorium can also be transformed into a gymnasium for indoor games such as table tennis and badminton, as the chairs retract to reveal an amazing indoor games infrastructure.

GIS is home to world-class sporting facilities, with dedicated fields and courts for soccer, basketball, and cricket. Because the roof-top swimming pool comes with a learning pool, students benefit from beginner to competitive level coaching by an experienced, professional coach. Finally, the school is to introduce you to its aesthetically-designed skating rink—the first in Bangladesh—for students in primary and lower secondary school. On its website, the school says, “An experienced skating coach shall hand hold the students in the sport of roller skating which is emerging as one of the modern games globally.”

Currently enrolled at GIS are 390 Kindergarten through Year 9 students, most of whom are Bangladeshi. The teaching staff of 100 includes 95 educators from Bangladesh. Pending accreditation with Cambridge Assessment International Examination (CAIE), GIS delivers the Cambridge K-12 Curriculum, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A Levels.

Co-curricular activities are an important part of the school years, where students can get the best opportunities to explore new ideas and activities. After school, GIS routinely arranges musical, art and dance competitions. Students also regularly take part in inter-school programs. While participation in the inter-school events is encouraged, students are also trained to attend competitions, look for excellence, and learn from others so that they can continuously improve their own performance.

GIS also runs various clubs and holds spectacular educational trips. The school plans to collaborate with schools and other institutions from countries outside Bangladesh to organize student exchange programs. Through these programs, GIS hopes to assist senior students immerse themselves in the education and culture of other countries.
