New Senior Associate Prepares to Expand Search Associates' Presence in Latin America

Search Associates welcomes Jennifer Imholt, who has already begun to represent the West Coast region of the U.S. with her husband Senior Associate Bob Imholt in the Washington office. Jennifer has also been named Senior Associate in charge of expanding the potential of a new job fair, Search Latin America. Jennifer is the ideal host for Search Latin America, after 23 years as a teacher and administrator in international schools chiefly in that region.

Jennifer has always had a passion for travel and culture, having grown up attending Department of Defense schools as the child of an Army officer who moved all over the U.S. and lived in Germany. Raised in a family that embraced travel and adventure, Jennifer cemented her commitment to experiencing new cultures and languages by studying abroad at the University of Copenhagen, as an exchange student. After that, she knew she wanted to find a career path that would allow her to work overseas!

A 1992 graduate of Washington State University with a B.A. Communications/Public Relations, Jennifer became certified as a K-8 teacher and earned her Master's in Teaching, with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction at City University in Washington in 1994 and 1998, respectively.

She then taught in schools in Qatar, Japan, Venezuela, Paraguay, and Colombia for almost two decades. A variety of leadership positions ensued. Jennifer served as IEP Case Manager, Primary & Elementary at Colegio Nueva Granada's Learning Center in Bogota, Colombia. She became Curriculum Coordinator for Pre-K-12 in 2014 at the International Community School of Abidjan (ICSA), Cote d'Ivoire, managing web-based curriculum mapping, facilitating professional development, and supporting teachers as they created units aligning with the Common Core Benchmarks. Later that same year, Jennifer took the helm as Interim Lower School Principal at ICSA. Upon returning to the US, Jennifer most recently taught second grade in a bilingual, dual-immersion Spanish program at PS 33 Bilingual Center in Buffalo, New York.

Jennifer enjoys traveling internationally, sampling gourmet and exotic foods, and engaging in outdoor activities, such as hiking, with her family. Jennifer, like all our Associates, finds pleasure and satisfaction in her work. She says,

"I'm thrilled to join Search Associates, because it is an amazing organization known for providing a personal touch and support to its clients. I look forward to helping connect teachers with a wide array of incredible international school opportunities."
