Seeks a Secondary Principal
July of 2009
Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of Search Associates and the Search Committee of Marymount International of Rome, as well as on behalf of Ms. Maire McNamara and Sr. Anne Marie Hill, I wish to announce that Mr. Pete Kennedy has been chosen as the new Secondary School principal. He has accepted enthusiastically and will arrive at Marymount in mid-summer.
Pete Kennedy has a Masters in Educational Administration from Columbia University, a BA in Mathematics from State University of New York, and has had extensive IB experience. He was the Upper School Principal at the American School in Rio de Janeiro, and the Upper School Principal at the Porter-Gaud Episcopal School in Charleston. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines and taught Mathematics at the American School in Japan, the International School of Kuala Lumpur, the Jakarta International School and the Port Jefferson High School in New York. Most recently, he was the Founder and Executive Director of the Carolina Preparatory Academy in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Search Committee wishes to thank all those who expressed interest in this position, and to wish each of you the best of luck as you pursue new career challenges and opportunities. I know you will all join in wishing Pete Kennedy much happiness and success in his new position at Marymount.
