Position Brief: JIS seeks a Principal to lead one of its two elementary schools, Pondok Indah Elementary (PIE). Our Principal is the Learning Leader and site based administrative head of an extremely dynamic Elementary School. The Principal is accountable for the continuous improvement of the school in order to maximize student learning. He/She provides leadership and management necessary to ensure the success of the school in fulfilling its mission, vision and values as described in the JIS Charter for Learning. The Principal works in a collaborative manner with teachers, students and parents to model the values of the school and build a 21st Century learning focused school. In keeping with this responsibility, the Principal shall promote the goal that Jakarta International School students achieve personal excellence to be the best for the world.
School Profile: Jakarta International School (JIS), founded in 1951, is a university preparatory school with 2,400 students from over 60 nationalities in Early Childhood through Grade 12. JIS offers a broad and challenging program in the English language, primarily to students of foreign nationalities who temporarily reside in Indonesia. JIS draws on the best of curriculum models and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Pondok Indah Elementary School: PIE is situated on a beautiful, “self-contained” campus. The campus, located adjacent to the HS/MS Cilandak Campus, is home to 535 Early Childhood to Grade 5 students (ages 3-11), and is staffed by 55 faculty members, including Vice Principal, counselors, and several other student support specialists. There is also a corps of classified staff members supporting the teaching of the faculty and the learning of the students.
