Sally J. Gordon is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where she earned both a BA in Music and an MA in Education. A seasoned International educator, she has worked in schools in Iran, Tanzania, and Peru. Her diverse background ranges from being a Middle School Principal in Dar es Salaam to teaching music at the preschool level; she also has had experience in both Middle and Elementary classroom teaching, theatrical production and personal, academic, college and career counseling.

Involved in many aspects of counseling throughout her career as an educator, Sally has held positions as Director of a Career Center at a four year college in Pennsylvania and most recently served as Guidance and College Counselor at Colegio Roosevelt in Lima. She views her new role as a Senior Associate as a perfect opportunity to combine her interpersonal strengths and experiences as an educator with staying actively involved in International Education. In addition to her work in teaching, administration and counseling, Sally has also spent time in the business world where she served as Director of a Sylvan Learning Center. On a lighter note, she had the opportunity to take a sabbatical from her working life to enjoy 3 years aboard a sailing catamaran exploring the seas of the world with her husband, Robert Harnwell, who is also a seasoned educator as well as a sailor.

Sally is a true facilitator. Equally at home working with groups of young children, adolescents and adults, Sally is a skilled workshop coordinator in the areas of Conflict Resolution and Communication Skills. Perhaps the greatest skill she brings to the Search Associates table is her enthusiasm to work together with teachers and administrators in helping them to achieve the right match of educator to school.

Sally officially joined the Search Associates Family in August of 2002, and looks forward to welcoming you as a candidate.
