UNITED WORLD SCHOOLS (UWS)
Bringing education to the communities that need it most
UWS is an international education charity working to bring quality, inclusive education to children in some of the world’s most remote and underserved communities. Working directly with local communities and governments, UWS builds schools, trains teachers, and strengthens education systems from the ground up.
Each year, we run an annual fundraising campaign, with contributions from our organization and from individual staff members, to support UWS’s work directly. Those funds have gone toward school operations, teacher training, learning materials, and community programs across the regions UWS serves.
To date, UWS has opened 311 schools, trained more than 1,500 teachers, and given educational opportunities to over 63,000 children who previously had none, across Cambodia, Myanmar, Madagascar, and Nepal. It’s the kind of impact that reminds us why we keep showing up for this partnership, year after year.
QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY
A pipeline to international teaching for Queen's graduates
Queen’s University’s Faculty of Education has a formal collaboration with us, giving Queen’s education graduates and alumni a direct route into international teaching. That relationship centers on the SEARCH Toronto Fair, organized through our Canada office, where Queen’s students and alumni, alongside educators from across Canada and beyond, interview with international schools face to face.
Every candidate attending the fair goes through our standard screening process before interviewing, so schools know exactly who they’re meeting. What makes this partnership especially meaningful is how it comes full circle: many Queen’s alumni now lead international schools of their own, and some return to the Toronto Fair each year, not as candidates, but as recruiters looking for their own next great hire.

A trusted path to background checks, wherever you've lived
Screening matters to us, and it should matter to every educator in our network too. That’s why we’ve partnered with Avvanz, a global background screening provider, to give our candidates a direct, straightforward path to completing background checks as part of the membership process.
International careers often mean background check requirements span more than one country, and coordinating that alone across different agencies can get complicated fast. Through this partnership, our educators can initiate and complete their checks without piecing that process together on their own, one more way we make sure the standards we hold for our network are easy for candidates to actually meet.
