I am pleased to announce that Fiona Mayer has been named the next Head of Primary at Ecole Mondiale World School in Mumbai, India, with a start date of July 2017.

Fiona comes to this position after three years serving as a District Superintendent of Schools in her native St. Lucia.  She had previously served as Deputy Head of School for Danube International School in Vienna, Austria, as PYP coordinator at Vienna International School, and as an elementary school teachers at Bonne Terre Prep School in St. Lucia.

Fiona has a EdD and an MS in International Management from the University of Liverpool and an MA in Education from the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.

to commence in July 2017

École Mondiale is a unique IB World school in India, delivering three Baccalaureate (lB) Programmes - the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).  It is a coeducational school catering to the needs of the citizens of Mumbai, the diplomatic and consular corps, multinational companies and the expatriate community living in Mumbai. The programme, from Playschool to Grade 12, is delivered in English.

École Mondiale is located in the prominent “Bollywood” suburb of Juhu, 30-35 minutes from the city centre and close to wide sandy beaches and shopping centres. The school utilizes leadership and management applications widely used in other international schools and recognized by International Educational Associations. It is governed by a Board and assisted by an Advisory Council comprising eminent men and women

Curriculum  & Methodology

Our curriculum is designed to be thought-provoking, relevant and international in its nature.

Much of the teaching is based on the assumption that understanding is a fundamental requirement for all learning to take place. Much of the work is therefore based on hands-on experience and research skills, where the role of the teacher becomes that of a facilitator. At École Mondiale, the students take an active part in their own learning. They are encouraged to use their own initiative and to develop into independent learners with a strong desire to think critically.

Our Team

The school senior management team consists of the Principal, Head of Secondary and Head of Primary. The school has also appointed a mix of highly qualified expatriate and Indian Heads of Departments and teachers, selected after an extensive search process to ensure the best fit for the programmes we offer.

Qualifications/Experience Sought

•  The Head of Primary at Ecole Mondiale World School will preferably have previous experience in a similar role in an International School environment;
• Experience and a depth of knowledge of PYP is essential;
• A post graduate qualification (Masters), while not essential, is an advantage

Compensation and Benefits

Ecole Mondiale is seeking a candidate who is seeking a long- term tenure if possible. The remuneration package is competitive within India.  Benefits include furnished housing, utility allowance, a shared driver, comprehensive medical insurance, life and disability allowance, annual home leave, airfares at the beginning and end of contract, settling in allowance, shipping in and out allowance and professional development opportunities. Up to two school-aged children receive free tuition. Airfares and insurance coverage applies to the Head of Primary’s spouse and up to two dependent children.
