Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Carmel School Hong Kong, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Nitsan Segev-Levi as Principal with effect from August 2027, succeeding Mrs Rachel Friedmann following her remarkable 18-year tenure.

Mrs Segev-Levi has served Carmel School since 2017, currently leading as Head of Elementary and Head of Jewish Life.   With extensive experience at every level of the school, three children enrolled at Carmel and a deep commitment to its mission, she brings both strong continuity and vision to the role.

Prior to joining Carmel, Mrs. Segev-Levi held key educational leadership roles in Israel, including Deputy Head of High School and Pedagogical Manager at Ort Binyamina.    She holds Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from Oranim College of Education and began her career in Special Education.

In announcing Mrs Segev-Levi’s appointment to the Carmel School community, Mr Jonathan Zeman, Chairman of the Board, wrote as follows:

"Mrs. Segev-Levi brings high academic professionalism, a proven record in Jewish education, and deep familiarity with our families and ethos".

Mrs Friedmann and Mrs Segev-Levi will work closely with the Board over the next eleven months to ensure a seamless transition.
