2015 Cambridge Fair Success

Search Associates hosted yet another successful year at the Cambridge Fair this February 5th-8th, organized by Jessica Magagna, President of Search Associates. Held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for many years, the fair provided an opportunity for candidates and school recruiters to connect through face-to-face interviews. The Cambridge Fair is the "flagship" fair of the organization and has had a 24 year track record of success.

The three-day event schedule included a myriad of orientations, workshops, which covered tips for interviewing and information about living overseas, and a gala reception for both candidates and recruiters in attendance. Thursday brought a whirlwind of activity as candidates and recruiters from around the world flew in and registered. Friday was dedicated to candidate sign-ups, followed by an afternoon of interviews. The evening ended with an exquisite reception in the ballroom, sponsored by Clemens Worldwide. Saturday and Sunday, many interviews continued, offers of employment were made, and the atmosphere was filled with cheer and relief.

With a phenomenal turnout, 431 candidates and 253 recruiters representing 136 schools from around the world, Cambridge is one of the largest fairs Search Associates has to offer! Both recruiters and candidates appeared very pleased with the ratio and opportunities available. Matthew Beata, Middle School Principal of IS Nido de Aguilas school commented,

"It has been very organized. There have been many candidates that have been highly qualified. For my school, it has given us many opportunities."

Similarly, candidate Cynthia Robertson was eager to experience her first fair. She commented,

"I like the energy. I like being able to know today that something is happening. I have truly enjoyed it!"

Ted O'Connell, a candidate who was offered and accepted a MS Math position in a Panama school, commented,

"In terms of preparation, you are very organized. It is my ten year anniversary. I will definitely come back!"

Hotel staff were also elated and appreciative to have Search Associates present this week. Ruth, a banquet staff member commented,

"You are all very professional and respectful. Everyone has a great time. The reception is always something to experience. We can't wait until you return next year!"

The Fair ended successfully, "kicking off" our 25th year anniversary celebration with a very promising outlook. Ninety-three percent (93%) of fair attendees rated the fair as very good or excellent. Close to over 900 positions were posted at the fair, and forty-five percent (45%) of all candidates attending have accepted a job, with more job offers expected! Search Associates looks forward to the next 25 years, sharing experiences with our partners and sponsors and connecting quality educators with top international schools worldwide!
