2015 Toronto Job Fair

Rob Snyder, Jessica Magagna, and Ray Sparks

For 20 years, Search Associates' annual Toronto Job Fair has been known for its very personal contact among candidates, recruiters, and Search Associates' staff. And this December 11-13 was no different. On hand to assist Senior Associate and Fair Organizer Ray Sparks and his assistant and wife Mary were President Jessica Magagna, Web Developer Rob Snyder, and Senior Associate Bob Barlas, along with his assistant and wife Nancy. The nearly 100 candidates in attendance had plenty of options, with over 600 postings and the opportunity to meet recruiters from 41 different schools. Ray said,

"Our purpose is to help our candidates be successful at our fair and to assist recruiters in finding good teachers."

The Courtyard Marriott, located in the heart of Toronto, provided reasonable rates for guests and plenty of space for Search Associates to host the event. Responses on a participant survey about Search Toronto were excellent:

"… I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience… The warm welcome upon arrival was most comforting … The encouragement throughout the process was most appreciated … I am absolutely thrilled about this adventure and tremendously grateful to you and your team. I will definitely recommend you to colleagues."

Participants also praised searchassociates.com:

"Your site is incredible. The search engine is easy to navigate and very detailed … The mail system is 'genius.'"

By the fair's end, 75% of candidates were offered jobs. Some had multiple offers! At this time, 25% have accepted, and we anticipate many more job placements in the coming weeks!
