Anne Beveridge Appointed New Lower School Principal at CAS, Morocco

On behalf of the Casablanca American School (CAS) in Morocco, Search Associates is pleased to announce that Ms. Anne Beveridge has been appointed as the new Lower School Principal, beginning in August 2024. In response to her appointment, Anne says,

My family and I are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to join Casablanca American School’s warm and vibrant community as it offers stimulating and forward-thinking programs set within a supportive environment. The school's commitment to fostering excellence in every student is truly inspiring, and we are eager to join such a dynamic educational community—and to explore Moroccan culture! I look forward to many years of collaboration and partnership with students, parents, staff, and faculty.

Currently in her third year as Junior School Principal, Pre-Kindergarten (age 2) to Grade 6, at Albert College in Belleville, Canada, Ms. Beveridge has served in leadership roles since 2007. When seeking inspiration, this compassionate educational leader is guided by the wisdom of Maya Angelou and Haim Ginott, respectively:

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel...
...I am the decisive element in the classroom... It is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated, and a child humanized or de-humanized.

Based on Anne Beveridge’s considerable past leadership experience, both internationally and in Canada, the CAS Search Committee selected her from a highly experienced and qualified group of candidates.  Director of CAS and Chair of the CAS Search Committee Mr. John Randolph shared the following:

We are most pleased that Ms. Beveridge will be joining our school as its Lower School Principal. This difficult and long search has culminated for us with a wonderful candidate. It is comforting to know that we have chosen a seasoned and well-educated administrator to guide our Lower School and to continue the fine traditions which the Casablanca American School has cultivated.

Anne holds both a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) with a double major in English and History and a Bachelor of Education, Primary and Junior Divisions from the University of Toronto, Canada. She also earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction—with a focus on inclusion of children with special needs into regular education programs—from Queen’s University, Canada.

Accompanying Anne to Morocco are her husband, James Becker, who will be teaching Middle School Social Studies and IB Business Studies, and their daughter, Frieda, who will be in Grade 8. In her spare time, Anne enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, and paddling. She also finds relaxation in reading, sewing, and cooking for family and friends, and is “particularly excited to explore Moroccan cuisine!”
