This March 18–21, Search Associates’ Director of Leadership Recruitment and Global Partnerships Dr. Tim Stuart was pleased to join several hundred international school counselors and educators from around the world at the annual conference of the International School Counselors Association (ISCA). ISCA notes,
As the field of international school counseling continues to evolve, this annual gathering serves as an essential space to connect, learn, and shape the future of student support worldwide.
Convened at the Grand Hotel Prague Towers in the Czech Republic, the Prague 2026 ISCA Annual Conference delivered on its promise to equip participants with practical strategies and fresh perspectives for strengthening student wellbeing, academic pathways, and global citizenship. Engaging keynote sessions, interactive workshops, and dynamic professional discussions supported the conference theme, “Building Bridges,” described in the ISCA program statement:
Whether it’s bridging the gap between student needs and services, theory and practice, or vision and implementation, our work centers on creating strong, intentional pathways that lead to meaningful change.
This year’s event, offered both in person and virtually, featured a full-day interactive workshop led by Featured Speaker Rosalind Wiseman who focused on fostering authentic belonging within international schools and elevating student voices. Her workshop provided educators, counselors, and school leaders with practical tools for navigating student dynamics, conflict resolution, and the cultural complexities that shape international school communities.
Additional Featured Speakers included Allison Edwards and Jacinta Williams, who each contributed valuable insights into supporting student wellbeing in diverse global contexts.
At the Search Associates (SEARCH) table in the Exhibitors Hall, Tim engaged with a wide range of both prospective and current candidates. His experience at the conference affirmed that serving as SEARCH’s first representative at the ISCA gathering marked the beginning of a meaningful partnership. He explained,
During times of global crisis, international schoolteachers carry the social and emotional weight of their school communities. Our member schools are reflecting the need for more qualified and experienced school counselors. It would be wise for Search Associates to enter a formal relationship with ICSA to access this network of international school counselors.
