Go Green! Teach Abroad Opportunities in Ecopark, Vietnam

Chadwick International Ecopark (CIE) offers overseas teaching opportunities in Ecopark, a green sustainable city that provides an escape to nature only 25 minutes from Hanoi, Vietnam. Opening in August 2023, CIE will continue the remarkable legacy forged by Chadwick School in California, U.S. and Chadwick International in Songdo, South Korea. All three schools share a common mission: to develop global citizens with keen minds, exemplary character, self-knowledge, and the ability to lead.

CIE has all the potential of a new international school yet one rooted in the traditions of two highly regarded schools. It is poised to bring a premier educational experience to students in Vietnam and a dynamic opportunity to for those wishing to teach abroad, contribute, and develop.

With an emphasis on green spaces and the outdoors, the large, tree-lined boulevards and modern housing of Ecopark offer a sanctuary outside of the hustle and bustle of the cultural city of Hanoi. Plenty of coffee shops and local Vietnamese restaurants can be found there along with a growing number of international dining options to enhance the teach overseas experience.

Located only 20 kilometers from Hanoi business district, the beautiful state-of-the-art campus has been designed in collaboration with Chadwick faculty and reflects the philosophy of the school’s founder, Margaret Chadwick. Her beliefs were engraved on the entrance to Chadwick School in California that “boys and girls may find excellent instruction, plenty of outdoor life and good companions.”

CIE plans to enroll 300 K-8 students overseen by a teaching staff of 70 that will include 10 Vietnamese educators. In addition to delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years and eventually the Diploma Programmes, the school will offer Advanced Placement courses. CIE is pending accreditation with Western Association of Schools and Colleges and authorization from the IB organization.

Dynamic learning spaces, such as the theater, dance studio, and innovation hubs, have been designed to ignite creativity. Experiential learning will also be fostered through CIE’s culinary kitchen, art studios, and science labs. Students will have opportunities to both lead and collaborate in two gymnasiums, an athletic field, playgrounds, and rooftop tennis courts and pools. With its lakes, golf courses, parks, clean air, and natural spaces the CIE environment lends itself to outdoor learning, an integral part of the Chadwick curriculum.

Utilizing the environmental and cultural experiences that abound in Vietnam, CIE is looking to develop its signature outdoor education program that can be found at the other campuses. In addition, CIE’s remains committed to international mindedness through its language program and by participating in Junior United Nations and Round Square events, and by hiring a diverse faculty of international teachers.

CIE can hire certified candidates of diverse profiles, including couples with a non-teaching partner and newly-certified teachers. They will also consider interns. Candidates must hold an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. As per government regulations, those up to the age of 65 may obtain a work visa.

CIE offers an attractive employment package for overseas teaching faculty, including housing, 100% tuition for their children, flights, and a moving package. Worldwide health insurance—TIE Health Care—is fully covered and includes life, dental, long-term disability, and emergency evacuation. CIE’s dedicated commitment to professional development includes unique opportunities to build collaborations with students and faculty both inside and outside the classroom with sister schools in South Korea and California. The CIE package combined with the low cost of living, allows for substantial savings or the chance for a family of four to live on one salary. Finally, there are also local employment opportunities for non-teaching partners.
