Harrow International School New York: An Exceptional New School Community for Global Educators

With the vibrancy of New York and a stunning waterfront campus spanning more than 170 acres, Harrow International School New York (HISNY) offers an inspiring day and boarding environment for girls and boys in Grades 6–9, just one hour from Manhattan.

HISNY is unlike any other school in the world, combining the strengths of British, American, and international curricula. Students graduate with both a New York State High School Diploma and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. In its inaugural year, guided by a diverse and experienced international faculty, HISNY enrolls 20 students across Grades 6–9 and plans to expand by one grade level each year over the next three years.

Accredited by the New York State Education Department, HISNY offers the IB Middle Years Programme while drawing on 450 years of educational excellence from Harrow School, one of the United Kingdom’s most distinguished independent schools. Beginning in the 2027–2028 school year, with Grades 11 and 12 fully in place, HISNY will also deliver the IB Diploma Programme.

As a new IB school, HISNY is enthusiastic about expanding its sports and activities programs to enrich both the learning experience and the students who engage in them.

HISNY welcomes applications from passionate educators with varied backgrounds, including teaching couples with a non-teaching partner, newly certified teachers, and experienced educators without certification. The school is also open to hosting interns seeking international school experience. In the United States, there is no age limit for teachers applying for a work visa.

Educators joining HISNY receive a competitive salary and, for those relocating, allowances for housing, airfare, and moving expenses. The school contributes 4% to a retirement plan and provides full tuition for dependents, along with extensive professional development. Worldwide health insurance—including life, dental, and long-term disability coverage—is fully funded. Local employment options are also available for non-teaching partners.
