Search Associates and United World Schools: Advancing Access to Education in 2025

Since 2017, Search Associates has proudly partnered with United World Schools (UWS) to expand access to quality, inclusive education in some of the world’s most underserved and remote communities. In 2025, this partnership continued to deliver meaningful and measurable impact.

Throughout the year, UWS strengthened its work across Asia and Africa, supporting hundreds of community-based schools and reaching tens of thousands of children who would otherwise have limited or no access to formal education. These efforts focused on access, sustainability, and long-term community empowerment.

Highlights from UWS’s 2025: A Year of Impact:

  • 37,937 children supported across 282 schools
  • 133 mothers’ and girls’ clubs promoting equal access to education
  • 44 schools transitioned to local ownership
  • 11 new schools built: six in Nepal, four in Madagascar, and one  in Cambodia

In 2025, UWS Cambodia also participated in the 6th National Conference on Transforming Education Paradigms in Phnom Penh, contributing to national dialogue on education reform.

A significant milestone was the launch of UWS’s 2025–2030 Programme Strategy at the United Nations General Assembly. By 2030, UWS aims to triple the number of children attaining foundational skills, supporting 260,000 children across UWS-supported and government schools in marginalised communities.

Continued Support from Search Associates

The British School TokyoSearch Associates remained deeply committed to supporting UWS throughout 2025 through annual fundraising, staff engagement, and advocacy within the international education community. Combined organizational and individual contributions totalled over USD 10,000, supporting school operations, teacher training, learning materials, and community programs.

Building on initiatives such as the 2024 Walk for Education campaign, Search Associates continued to engage educators and schools worldwide, including connecting with the leadership team at The British School in Tokyo to learn from their decade-long partnership with UWS

Looking Ahead

As both organizations reflect on the progress made in 2025, Search Associates and United World Schools remain united in their belief that education is a powerful driver of long-term, systemic change. Through this ongoing partnership, Search Associates is proud to stand alongside UWS in helping to expand educational opportunity and transform lives around the world.
