Teach Abroad at a Progressive and Rigorous School in India

JBCN International School, Oshiwara (JBCN Oshiwara) is where academic learning is complemented by world-class infrastructure; a strong co–curricular program with sports, theatre, and creative art, and leadership opportunities; and assessment that truly serves as feedback of learning rather than just testing. Learning at JBCN Oshiwara is not limited to the classrooms and traditional teaching methods; the school strongly believes in experiential learning, citing on its website:

The conceptual basis of all our efforts at JBCN International is learning for deeper understanding. . . Simply put, this approach introduces the learner to a “big conceptual idea” through an interdisciplinary theme that connects all learning into a “big picture” that facilitates deeper understanding.

JBCN Oshiwara’s 1.2-acre campus features 55 spacious, temperature-controlled Smart classrooms; a laboratory each for physics, chemistry, and biology; two ICT laboratories for hands-on learning; well-designed spaces for music, dance, drama, and art; and a cafeteria. The school’s impressive sports infrastructure includes a well-maintained cricket pitch, football ground, swimming pool, and facilities for archery, skating, yoga and chess, among others.

At JBCN, a combination of in-house and external experts seamlessly run an extracurricular program that exposes learners—even pre-primary learners—to all sports and creative skills from a young age. Taking into account the age and the ability of the children, activities build on individuals’ skill set and hones their natural abilities. Choices for sport include gymnastics, skating, chess, football/soccer, cricket, swimming, track and field. Students take part in artistic exploration through the creative arts, performing arts, theatre, dance, and music.

The school promotes social awareness through celebration of various days, for example Environment Week, and an outreach program that supports the Cotton Association of India; Helen Keller; and Saklecha Foundation, which promotes basic healthcare and education for all.
