Teaching abroad in international schools - Information seminars soon to be held in Australian capital cities

Qualified teachers in Australia who are interested to find out what it's like to live and teach abroad will soon have the opportunity to do so as Search Associates Australia takes to the road with a series of information seminars across the country.

The International School seminars, which are being staged in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth in September and October, are being organized to help teachers who may be considering a move find out whether it really is the right thing for them. As well as hearing from an experienced professional about living and working abroad, participants will also have the chance to be interviewed by Search Senior Associate, Nick Kendell.

Nick said:

"Working and living abroad is an exciting opportunity, but we understand also that it is a big step to take and we want to help teachers get a feel for what it is really like – the challenges as well as the opportunities. That's why we organize these seminars."

And he added:

"I also think the experience of a one to one interview on the day is a very worthwhile, as it can help those taking part get a much better feel for the sorts of questions they might be asked by an International School that might be slightly different from the questions they would get from a domestic school."
Information on how Search Associates can help qualified teachers in their pursuit of positions internationally will also be available on the day.

Dates for the seminars are as follows:

  • Brisbane Seminar, Saturday September 22nd
  • Melbourne Seminar, Wednesday September 25th
  • Sydney Seminar, Saturday September 29th
  • Perth, Saturday, October 13th

Attendance at the seminars is by invitation only. For more information on exact locations and times, please contact Nick Kendell.
