Hong Kong/China Fair

Xiaohang (upper R) attends the Q&A with school leadersJanuary 14-16, Senior Associate Xiaohang Sumner hosted the Search Associates Hong Kong/China Fair. Originally slated to be in-person, the Fair was changed to a completely online virtual fair due to last-minute host city COVID cases. Over 300 candidates participated in the Fair to meet with 72 schools with well over 800 vacancies in Hong Kong and mainland China. The Fair still delivered Search Associates’ 360º of support, with numerous opportunities for candidates and recruiters to connect. Both schools and candidates felt the transition to an online fair was very smooth and the fair well run.

Xiaohang enjoyed hosting the live Q&A school panel presentation, where Heads of Schools answered all candidate questions. The panel featured leaders from Shen Wai International School; YK Pao School, Shanghai; Wellington College International, Shanghai; Beijing International Bilingual Academy; Nord Anglia School Foshan; and NAS Shenzhen. Additionally, members from SEARCH attended in support of schools in China. Director of School Relations Sheena Nabholz gave a warm welcome. CEO Jessica Magagna presented a couple of SEARCH’s 2022 goals: In partnership with PD Academia, SEARCH will provide Human Resources Standards along with a training program for recruitment, retention, and induction, all available in English and Chinese. Director of Consulting Services George Entwistle described the many services of Search Consultants: leadership searches, governance, marketing, DEI/Human Relations guidance, comp and benefits benchmarking, business/finance advice, and strategic planning.

Xiaohang looks forward to hosting this year’s spring China Fair March 18-20, in Shanghai if conditions permit! For more about Search Associates’ 11 annual job fairs, hosted within—or dedicated to—different regions around the globe, click here.
