Lana will join Search Associates in August 2022 as a Senior Consultant after concluding a 19 year tenure at the American School of Doha, where she served as the Lower Elementary Principal. Lana is well versed in the areas of Professional Learning Communities of Practice, Data Driven Learning and Leadership, Standards-Based Learning Systems, Constructivist Pedagogy, and International Mindedness and Culturally Inclusive Practices. In the role of Senior Consultant, Lana will engage with member schools on Leadership Searches, Leadership Development, Mentoring and Coaching, and Strategic Planning; in addition to consultancy work in Educational Leadership, Programs and Practices.
Lana has been working in international schools for 28 years and is experienced as both an elementary educator and an elementary administrator. During her career, Lana served as an IB Primary Years Program Coordinator, Elementary Associate Principal and Lower Elementary Principal. As Lower Elementary Principal at the American School of Doha, Lana was a part of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and she served a Lower Elementary student body of approximately 570 students and 100 faculty and staff. Lana has provided leadership through numerous initiatives over the years, the most recent of which was the expansion of the Lower Elementary division to encompass a Pre-K 3 program.
Lana holds a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education (McGill University), a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (McGill University), and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership (University of Western Ontario). Lana is committed to professional growth and through her long-time service at a NESA member school, she has participated in numerous NESA professional learning engagements over the years. Lana brings extensive experience and a depth of knowledge to her consultancy endeavors.
