We are looking for an exceptional individual who can demonstrate the commitment and experience to drive forward the growth and further success of the Australian International School, Vietnam (AIS).

An IB World School with a roll of approximately 1100 students, the school is well resourced with exceptional world-class facilities that will enable growth to 2000+ students from Kindergarten to Senior School across three campuses in District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme, a broad range of IGCSE examinations in the Middle School, and in Year 12 and 13 students follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The main campus is a nine year old purpose-built school consisting of eighty four classrooms and specialist facilities including IT rooms, libraries, science laboratories, art and music rooms, a swimming pool, covered tennis courts, auditorium, full-sized gymnasium, sports field and a large cafeteria. The main campus houses Kindergarten, Primary, Middle and Senior School students.

The other two campuses provide alternative locations for families while being within close proximity to the main campus. Located in two prestigious housing developments, one campus consists of a Kindergarten for approximately 80 students and the other a second Kindergarten and Primary campus for approximately 400 students with a large sports complex.

Robust employment practices and policies have ensured that well qualified, experienced and committed staff have been employed. Approximately 90 expatriate teaching staff and 160 national staff work across the three campuses. The Executive Principal will lead a management team consisting of a Deputy Executive Principal, Principal of Primary, and two Deputy Principals.

The role provides a compelling opportunity for an educational leader who can build on the exceptional strengths and achievements of the school and provide a purposeful vision for the future.

In particular, the successful candidate for this position will possess:

  • Proven academic leadership and management ability
  • Demonstrated ability or capacity to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment
  • Ability to report to a Board and manage foreign and local staff
  • A passion for dynamic and innovative education that inspires students to be lifelong learners
  • A focus on superior quality of service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with and earn the respect of students, staff, parents and the wider community
  • A high level of commitment to ICT in administration and teaching
  • Secondary education management and teaching experience preferred

Along with the opportunity to contribute significantly to a growing school focused on educational excellence, remuneration commensurate with the high expectations of this position will be offered including return airfares, medical insurance, relocation, transport, a housing allowance and full tuition for dependent children. The preferred commencement date for the position is 1 August 2016 but this can be negotiated with the successful candidate. An initial three-year appointment will be made, with options for renewal.
