Black Lives Matter

We are shocked, outraged, and heartbroken by the ongoing injustices against Black people across America. We want to acknowledge George Floyd and the many others around the world who have needlessly lost their lives due to racist violence and who continue to deal with an inequitable justice system and society. The world does not have to be this way.

It is time we all ask ourselves: If racism and social injustice are systemic, and I am in that system, how can I be a bridge among men and women of different races? What is it that I do, and how can I do better?

It is time to ask the same of the organizations that we work for or lead: What does the organization represent? What can the organization do? How do we as an organization encourage, honor, and support diversity among humans? Who have we invited to our table? What can we do better?

Search Associates is committed to seeking to effect change by advocating for more teachers of color teaching at international schools and more leaders of color leading international schools. We pledge to instill more diversity within our own organization. We recognize the role of education in breaking down barriers and resolve to join others in being drivers of the change we all want--a change we all need.

We know we do not have all the answers, but we are passionate and determined to continue asking the right questions, joining in the conversations, and striving to be a part of the solution.

In Solidarity,

The Search Associates Team
