On behalf of Mr. Russ Menard, the Director of the American International School of Mozambique (AISM), Search Associates is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Eloïse Engel as next Primary School Principal at AISM, to begin August 2024. Ms. Engel states:
I am thrilled to join AISM as it describes itself as a community school in which we are all learners growing together. One can really feel the warmth and kindness when stepping into the school. Knowing that we will join a community of learners focusing on the Universal Design for Learning, service learning, and wellbeing for all excites me.
Eloïse holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Education, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany and a Master of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies, from Buffalo State University, U.S.
Committed to the advancement of international education in Africa, Eloïse currently not only serves as Primary School Principal at Bishop Mackenzie International School (BMIS) in Lilongwe, Malawi but is also the leader of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA) Elementary Principal Group. Eloïse has taught at Harare IS in Zimbabwe, the American IS of Lusaka in Zambia, and she has worked as an Educational Consultant at the International Community School of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, focusing on differentiated instruction and creating inclusive learning environments. In addition to her experience in Africa, Eloïse has taught at ABA in Oman and Atlanta IS in the U.S. This experienced leader “very much” relies on these words:
Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. Embrace it, stay strong, and learn. You can do this.
Eloïse will join AISM with her husband Charlie and their two sons, ages 13 and 11. Her favorite pastime is to be with her family—going for walks and swimming and playing “tons” of board games. Eloïse also loves to read, paint, and be in her garden. She adds:
Nature fills my heart with joy. The beach and the bush are my happy places.
Search Associates would like to thank all the candidates who applied for this position, and to everyone who assisted and supported the successful Primary School Principal search process for AISM.
