Search helps with key appointment in Gabon

Search Associates was delighted to be involved in the recent appointment of a new Interim Director of the American International School Libreville in Gabon.

Mr Robert Bennett, who has had a long career in educational leadership including over 20years as an administrator with the United States Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) in Turkey, Germany and Italy, takes over immediately.

Following a distinguished career with the DoDDS system, Mr. Bennett served as Headmaster with Emirates International Schools, was interim director at Al Wahda Private School, Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and was director at Wadi Educational Services, also in the UAE. He was the founding Director of the Infinity International School in Cairo and currently lives with his wife Sheila (a counselor and educator) in Bozeman, Montana in the United States.

With both Bachelors and Masters degrees in science, Mr. Bennett has taught mathematics and has been a guidance counselor in addition to his years as an administrator.

Senior Associate John Ritter worked closely with the School Board to find a suitable candidate for this important post. John commented:

"I am delighted to have been able to support the school's efforts to find someone with such a wealth of experience and an outstanding record. We wish him and everyone at AISL all the best moving forward."

Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, chairman of AISL's Search Committee, said the Board of Directors was both grateful and appreciative of John's hard work and dedication in the process of finding and appointing Mr Bennett.
