Experience Teaching Abroad at American Academy Casablanca in Vibrant Morocco
School Spotlights
Resting in a vibrant new suburb of Casablanca, American Academy Casablanca (AAC), Morocco invites you to experience its welcoming and inclusive culture. This pre-K–12 school fosters a close-knit community of students, parents, and staff, all working together to achieve its mission.
Morocco is an exceptional destination for both visitors and residents, renowned for its warm hospitality, as locals are accustomed to welcoming foreigners. With its rich history, diverse attractions, and well-developed tourism infrastructure, Morocco offers countless opportunities for exploration. Casablanca, in particular, boasts beautiful weather, a low cost of living, and stable government and currency systems. Moreover, Europe and other global destinations are just a short, affordable flight away.
The AAC campus, one of the largest in North Africa, spans three buildings and features 71 well-appointed classrooms, making it a dynamic and inspiring environment for both teaching and learning. Classrooms are filled with natural light and provide stunning views, while top-tier facilities include a modern sports complex with a 25-meter swimming pool, a 400-seat theater, and ample spaces that enhance the campus’ vitality.
Fully accredited by AdvancEd/Cognia, AAC delivers the U.S. Common Core curriculum, which transitions into Advanced Placement (AP) classes or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Currently, the school enrolls 800 students from pre-K through Grade 12, representing over 40 nationalities. Approximately 70% of students and 50% faculty are Moroccan, contributing to a rich, multicultural environment.
AAC takes pride in its outstanding athletics and arts programs, which are highly celebrated and supported by the school community. Beyond academics, students benefit from Morocco’s cultural and natural landmarks through field trips and extracurricular activities. The school’s Service Learning Program encourages students to actively engage in giving back to the local community.
AAC seeks certified teachers with diverse backgrounds, including newly qualified teachers and teaching couples with non-teaching partners. Candidates must hold an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. Teachers up to the age of 59 are eligible for work visas. However, political constraints may affect the eligibility of candidates from particular countries.
In addition to a non-taxed salary, the overseas teaching benefits package includes a moving allowance, fully furnished housing with utilities and internet included, and an airfare stipend with every contract. Tuition, school fees, and transportation to and from school are fully covered, and school lunch is half price. AAC offers continuing education support and professional development funding, which must be applied for. Worldwide health insurance, including dental and long-term disability, is fully covered. Finally, there are local employment opportunities for non-teaching partners.
