Dubai Fair 2018

February 15^th-17^th, Senior Associate Bill Turner and his wife Alison Turner hosted the annual Search Dubai Fair. Representatives from 40 schools arrived to discuss 286 postings with 155 candidates. The Crowne Plaza is an extremely convenient venue for the fair, with everything available under one roof and close to the airport.

A sizable team helped Bill and Alison to give that personal touch for which Search Associates is famous: Senior Associates David Cope and Gary MacPhie as well as Executive Assistants Neil Kilah, Rosie Eacott, Roger Platt and Rebecca Steadman. Candidate Olivia Haines corroborated:

The Dubai fair is particularly appropriate for candidates looking for a position in the Middle East or Asia. An explosion of international schools in the region has made the fair increasingly popular, and the majority of the schools recruiting at the fair come from those regions—though a good number of schools from Europe and Africa usually come as well. Because of his recent leadership experience in three schools across the region covering British, IB and American curricula, and Alison’s leadership of two British schools in Dubai, Bill and Alison are well-equipped to co-host Search Dubai. Bill says,

“International schools of all kinds – including British, American and IB schools – attend our Dubai job fair, so it is suitable for a wide range of teachers, in all subject fields and at all levels. The fair is especially convenient for candidates already working in Europe, the Middle East, Africa or Asia who can reach Dubai within reasonable flying time. Plus, like no other fair, ours offers free neck and shoulder massages!”

The number of international teaching positions filled as a result of Search Dubai has not yet been tallied, but attendees expressed great satisfaction with their Search Dubai experience. Principal of Al Sahwa Schools, Oman, Peter Coles thanked Bill and Alison for “a wonderful fair that was superbly organized,” and Candidate Orsolya Koszeghy exclaimed,

“I especially want to thank you for going out of your way to help me hunt down recruiters that I was waiting for!!  I thought that the organisation of the event was excellent and the support was outstanding.  The venue was also very comfortable with excellent service from everyone.  Thanks again and looking forward to meeting in years to come!
