Michael Williams organizes the San Francisco Fair, the two Bangkok Fairs (with help from Harry Deelman) and assists Ray Sparks with the Leadership Fair. In 1978, Michael earned a Bachelor of Education from Central Washington University and entered elementary teaching in two different districts in Tacoma, Washington. He went on to earn his Masters in Educational Administration in 1981 from Central Washington University and served as an Elementary Principal in two districts in the Puget Sound Region. In 1989, he was assigned as the Principal of Shanghai American School where he served for two years. He then returned to the Pacific Northwest to take up a position as an Elementary Principal and Coordinator of International Programs in the Puyallup School District. In 1998, Michael returned to Shanghai where he served for nine years at Shanghai Community International Schools. During his tenure at SCIS, he saw the school through a period of growth which included an increase of over 1400 students, and helped the school manage over 30 million dollars worth of new school construction. During this time, he also served as a Board member and as the President of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools.
Michael was awarded the Distinguished Principal’s Award from both the Pierce County Principal’s Association and the Association of Puyallup School Principals. He also received the Educator of the Year Award from the Rainier Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa in 1997. He has served on numerous accreditation visiting teams for the Western Association of schools and Colleges, at a variety of schools throughout Asia.
Assisting Michael in his office is his wife, Laurie Williams, Executive Assistant (who has over 25 years of experience as a teacher, consultant, and administrator, including 11 years in international education); Vince Pecchia, Executive Assistant (long-time educator and administrator in Washington State); Ty Williams, University of Washington School of Business graduate (business / accounting), and Jane Queen, Executive Assistant (long time educator and administrator in Shanghai and Washington State).

Biography: Laurie (wife of Michael Williams) has nearly 30 years of experience in education. She was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in University Place, Washington and has served in the roles of a classroom teacher from preschool through high school, as a staff development presenter, as an administrator (Director of Curriculum, Lower School Coordinator, Director of Admission and Marketing), and has also served on WASC accreditation visiting committees. She has had the privilege of working in China at Shanghai American School and Shanghai Community International Schools. Having lived overseas for 11 years (with 2 children and Michael), Laurie is a great resource for candidates with families.

Vince Pecchia, Executive Assisstant
Vince does the lion's share of the processing of candidate applications and is a great point of contact regarding the registration process and procedures as well as answering general questions about teaching overseas.
Biography: Vince has spent a total of thirty seven years in the field of education as an elementary school teacher, an elementary principal, and as the Director of Elementary Education. During his tenure, Vince was awarded the Distinguished Principal's Award from the Association of Puyallup School Principals and the Ed Zeiger Award for Exceptional Service to Children. Vince is instrumental in the operation of the job fairs in San Francisco and Bangkok, and enjoys travelling to Italy. Vince lives in Tacoma, Washington with his wife Marci.

Jane Queen, Executive Assistant
Jane works with both schools and candidates and is available to answer your questions.
Biography: Jane has spent over thirty-five years in the field of education as an elementary special/general education teacher, professional development presenter, elementary principal, Director of Human Resources, Executive Director of Elementary Education, and University Supervisor of student teachers. Jane worked internationally as lower school principal at Shanghai Community International Schools. She lives in Puyallup, Washington with her husband Tom.

Ty Williams, Business Manager
Ty processes payments and is available to answer questions from candidates and schools regarding invoices and finances.
Biography: Ty is a graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business as his major and Music minor from the University of Washington in Seattle. He has a passion for basketball, music, health, and fitness. Ty attended grades 1-9 at Shanghai Community International Schools in China, and continues to have a keen interest in things international.
