The GEMS approach to learning is one that focuses not only on academic excellence, but also on providing a values-based education to every child. A GEMS education helps students develop character, creativity, personal leadership and the spirit of enterprise necessary to achieve their full potential as global citizens and leaders of the future.

The School

GEMS Dubai American Academy offers a fully developed, standards-based American curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma to international students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. A strong extracurricular program designed to promote the personal, social and educational development of all students enriches the school’s challenging academic program. Premium facilities offer students the opportunity to enjoy a rich and varied program of athletics, fine and performing arts, and leadership development.

Now in its sixteenth year of operation, the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredit DAA. Students have obtained excellent IB results since the program’s inception at DAA in 2004. DAA is the only American curriculum school in the UAE recognized as Outstanding by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau, a distinction held by the school since 2011.

The school is truly diverse with over 2,300 students from over 100 countries. DAA is divided into four divisions—Primary, Elementary, Middle and High. Each division with its own ethos focused on age-appropriate learning needs of students. The school’s celebrated Culture of Kindness pervades all interactions between students and adults on campus. Parental support for the school is exceptional; the DAA Parent Association actively supports the school leadership and teachers, and parental engagement contributes to outstanding academic results.
