Pechersk School International Seeks a Director Commencing July 2023

Established in 1995, Pechersk School International (PSI) opened its doors to 47 students serving international and national students in Kyiv, Ukraine.  Prior to temporarily relocating the existing campus to Warsaw, Poland, for the 2022 – 23 school year, PSI had the esteemed reputation of being the flagship school in Ukraine offering three International Baccalaureate programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP) for over 500 students from 50 different countries.  Since 2003, PSI has been accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC).  It is a current member of the Central and Eastern Schools Association (CEESA) and receives support from the US Department of State Office of Overseas Schools.

Due to the current political situation in Ukraine, the 2022 – 2023 academic year will find PSI providing in-person instruction to its students at a satellite campus in Warsaw, Poland as well as online instruction for its students living abroad.  Once hostilities are resolved in Ukraine, PSI will resume operations at its campus in Kyiv.

A few of the essential leadership qualities candidates should possess when considering applying for the position include the following:

  • Experience in leading in an uncertain living and learning environment while responding effectively to challenges associated with providing continuous instruction for a school in transition.
  • Experience in developing short and medium term operational budgets.
  • A proven ability to think creatively and problem solve.
  • The ability to respond proactively in all matters pertaining to school climate and culture.

Pechersk School International has retained the services of Carney Sandoe (Dr. Deborah Welch), International School Service (Dr. Arnie Bieber), and Search Associates (Dr. Eric Sands) in finding the next Director.  At this stage in the search process, candidates should complete the PSI Director Interest Form and submit their CV by clicking on the link below, as the three search firms are working as a collaborative “Alliance Group” on this project. A formal announcement detailing the application procedures for the position will be available at a later date.
