Through strategic alliance with the largest private school owner and operator in Saudi Arabia, the Ma’arif Education Group, GEMS Education has added 14 new schools across KSA to our global footprint of world-class education and we now have an opportunity to enrich the lives of over 22,000 students and their families.
Looking to the future, GEMS Education plans to build a significant portfolio of more than 50 schools and provide high-quality education to more than 130,000 students, creating 60,000 new jobs in the education sector. With the public and private sector working together, we aim to improve the standard of education in the country and enhance human capital development.
GEMS Saudi International School will open in September 2020 in the heart of Dammam City, Al Muntazah district. The school will offer the American Curriculum to 460 students from Pre-K to Grade 9 in year 1 with annual growth to accommodate 3,105 students in successive years.
The campus will have excellent educational facilities such as swimming pool, auditorium of 600 seats, three outdoor playfields, multipurpose hall and specialist rooms such as Radio Room, Cooking Lab, Sewing Lab & English Lab.
Dammam, on the Arabian Gulf, is the capital city of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Its tree-lined corniche walkway is known for King Abdullah Park’s walkways and the man-made Coral Island. Located just 1 Hour from Manama, the capital of Bahrain, Dammam is the perfect location to enjoy the benefits of life on Saudi Arabia’s beautiful Eastern coast, and those of its neighbour.
From August 2020 we are seeking to appoint an exceptional leader with the drive and vision to lead the first GEMS school in KSA.
We are looking for a leader with a demonstrated capacity to:
- Design and implement a visionary, strategic approach that connects and inspires the school community to collectively achieve educational excellence;Inspire and support school leaders and teachers to lead the way as innovators and architects of imaginative, future-focused, high impact, educational design and delivery;
- Promote a school culture that is dynamic, engaging, inclusive, collaborative and outward looking; in which each member is valued and has a clear commitment to the goals and strategic directions of the school;
- Engage parents to play a key role in supporting their children as partners in their learning
- Engage academic and business partnerships that provide opportunities for students to have a wide variety of enhanced learning experiences and opportunities
- Ensure the values of Saudi Arabia and GEMS Education are deeply embedded into the daily life of the school, while also contributing to the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision.
Experience starting a new school is desirable although not essential. Experience working in the Middle East or working with local communities is preferred as this school will cater to the local Saudi community in Dammam and surrounding areas.
Qualifications include significant teaching experience, ideally a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership or similar, a minimum of three years in a senior leadership position in a large and complex school environment, as well as direct experience of leading in the capacity of Head of School. US curriculum experience is not essential; the position is open to Head of Schools from other international curricular.
