The Columbus School is seeking a committed and dedicated High School Principal to begin July, 2023. This position reports to the Superintendent and forms part of the school´s Leadership Team. The position directly supervises the High School Staff and plays a key role in the implementation and management of the school’s Strategic Plan.

The ideal candidate in this role will be someone who leads and enables faculty and staff to achieve the school's vision of empowering students to become global citizens and to pursue excellence.  The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to  foster an environment that supports the school’s values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.


  • Master’s degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in education, including 4 years in leadership positions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 3+ years commitment, preferred


1. Instructional Leadership. 

Collaborate with the Director of Learning to lead the development, alignment and execution of a plan of action for monitoring the curriculum and implementing instructional and assessment strategies that enhance learning and teaching.

2. School Climate.

Develop and nurture a developmentally appropriate, positive and safe school climate.

3. Human Resource Leadership.

  • Assist the Superintendent with the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
  • Ensure faculty receive appropriate and effective performance feedback through classroom observations, individual meetings, and professional learning opportunities.

4.  Operational and Organizational Leadership.

Support, manage and oversee the organizational operation and use of resources for High School. 

5.  Student  Support and Progress.

  • Guide the high school team in the admission and ongoing care and support of students.
  • Implement strategies which result in student progress consistent with the school's mission and school-wide goals

6. Community Relations and Communication. 

Effectively communicate and collaborate, engaging stakeholders to promote understanding, support,  and the continuous improvement of the school´s programs and services.

7.  Performs other duties not specified above as assigned by the Director or as needed by the division.

Working hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:20 am - 3:30 pm, Tuesday from 7:30 - 4:30 pm but are subject to change based on the school´s needs and to attend any additional that requires attendance.

The Columbus School offers a salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
