Seeks a Primary Principal
Effective August 2022
Canggu Community School (CCS) is seeking an experienced Primary Principal to lead our Early Years through Year 6 programme for August 2022. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Primary Principal works collaboratively with the Head of School and Secondary Principal to ensure all students feel valued and connected, as unique individuals with their own passions and dreams, to our community.

CCS is a non-profit co-educational school enrolling students from Preschool to Year 13. Learning at CCS is focused on inquiry, student-led, facilitated by excellent teachers, and rooted in research based best practices in international education. CCS curriculum is grounded in the British National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and IBDP but adapted to fit our unique context in Bali. Most importantly, we believe students learn best when they are empowered, confident, and part of a community. CCS is fully accredited by CIS and WASC and is authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
There are currently around 430 students enrolled at the school, with about 200 in the Primary School which includes an Early Years programme. This number is expected to return to pre-COVID capacity of 600 students. Students at CCS come from over 40 nationalities. CCS employs 40 expatriate teachers (primarily a blend of Australian, UK, America, Canada and NZ educators with international experience) and over 50 Indonesian teachers including highly-qualified teacher assistants.
The CCS campus is different: a blend of modern learning spaces, Indonesian architecture and art, and Bali’s incredible natural beauty. The campus is covered in lush gardens, bordered by rice fields, and even has a small river running through it. The purpose built Primary campus was opened in August of 2020. Facilities include numerous air conditioned classrooms with open air learning environments attached, music and art spaces, multifunction hall, sport field and playgrounds, yoga/meditation space, and a 25m swimming pool.

The ideal candidate will
Have a minimum of a Masters degree in Education and at least five years’ experience in a similar leadership position.
At all times be a highly visible ambassador for CCS, encouraging and advancing the CCS commitment to being a positive influence on its local and global community.
Build positive, productive relationships in order to gain the trust and confidence of students, staff, parents, and the school community.
Embrace the school Strategic Plan and provide visionary and strategic leadership to support growth and improvement while fostering a culture of accountability.
Act as an active learning leader with experience and a commitment to inquiry based learning and the TC Workshop Model. Model lessons and teach as required (approximately 20%).
Embrace a systemic approach to sound decision making, understanding CCS’s strengths while positively facilitating change and able to make difficult decisions in the best interests of students and the entire school community.
At all times be an advocate for each student achieving his/her full potential while valuing and supporting holistic student growth.
Have experience in developing/sustaining high performing teams and whole school cultures.
Motivate, inspire, challenge, and support the development and learning of the full educational team as individuals and as a group.
Communicate with all stakeholders in an effective, positive, solution oriented, and timely manner.
Demonstrate commitment to personal professional growth and development inline with current research in international education.
