The American International School – Riyadh (AIS-R) is a preschool-through-upper school, American-curriculum institution offering a wide range of learning opportunities to its students. Over 1,400 students, representing over 65 nationalities are enrolled, including 35% from the United States, 15% from Canada, and 15% from Saudi Arabia. The Lower School covers Preschool through Grade 8; and the Upper School is made up of Grades 9 through 12. AIS-R offers a high school diploma program as well as the full International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). AIS-R is licensed to operate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the Ministry of Education and is governed by the AIS-R Board of Trustees. AIS-R is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS).

- Master's Degree in Educational Administration or Leadership preferred
- Valid administrative certification through a North American institution preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in leading the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program
- Demonstrated knowledge of instruction, curriculum, assessment, and exemplary practices in high school education
- Experience as an educational leader
- Considerable IB teaching experience preferred

With the principal, creates and fosters an atmosphere and ethos where all students can succeed.
With the principal, serves as one of the High School’s learning leaders, modeling life-long learning, promoting best practices, and designing programs that positively impact student achievement;
Serves as the High School’s Learning Leader in the IBDP, leading and managing the program, including promoting the implementation of all IB initiatives
Works closely and collaboratively with the counseling department on deadlines, predicted grades and university applications.
Assists the principal in working collaboratively with faculty, parents and students to develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the school;
With the principal, creates opportunities for students to contribute their input and initiate change;
Assists the principal in maintaining a system of accountability for teachers and students that measures learning success;
Contributes effectively to and collaborates with the AIS-R Leadership Team on school wide initiatives;
Assists the principal in engaging parents, students, and staff in collaborative change efforts;
With the principal monitors student achievement and student interventions
Leads and manages, with the Grade 9/10 counselor, NWEA MAP testing and the use of the results to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
Leads the Early Release Day Team in planning and coordinating Eagle Day events.
Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school including:
Serving as principal in the absence of the principal.
Maintaining discipline by developing, with faculty, students and parents, effective problem-solving and behavior-management strategies
Managing the absence and tardy policy
Working with the principal in staff performance evaluation.
Cultivating a community of learning
Developing and implementing structures for faculty learning.
Part of the hiring process for all DP teachers and positions
Planning and coordination of assemblies and events
Supervising of the SSC and after school learning
Supervising Saturday School
Supervises the Extended Essay and Community, Action, Service Coordinator positions.
Manages the IB budget.
Creates the IB Mock Exam schedule and the Internal Deadline calendar.
Ensures that the assessment and reporting of IB student work is in line with the IB Program philosophy of assessment.
Manages the Attendance and IBDP Part time Administrative Assistant
Collaborates with the building of the Master Timetable, ensuring ample access to all DP classes
Performs other duties as assigned by the High School Principal and/or Superintendent.
Builds and sustains an ongoing partnership with community stakeholders;
Communicates effectively with all constituents both verbally and in writing;
Maintains positive community relations;
Involves parents in their child's educational program;
Attends all major school wide and divisional events.
